With an international recruitment campaign via social media, Tilburg University seeks new students for the English-taught bachelor programmes in International Business Administration, Economics, and Econometrics & Operations Research, as well as for the interdisciplinary programme Liberal Arts and Sciences. On www.talkoftomorrow.com ambitious youth from across the globe gets a chance to go into a conversation about actual topics, and it gives them a chance to meet each other and the international programmes.
Tilburg University keeps the discussion active by posting relevant statements, for example about the freedom of speech, raising the retirement age, or the American economy. The topics are in line with the mission of the university: “we inspire our staff and students to contribute to the quality of our society of today and tomorrow”. The prospective students are challenged to give their reaction and share it with friends on Twitter, Facebook, and for participants from China, on RenRen. In addition to posting reactions, the visitors can analyse and visualise topics, as well as follow a trend.
By participating actively in the discussion on the Talk of Tomorrow, the visitors can earn ‘badges’, to qualify them for a prize. Examples of badges are King of Conversation or You can count on me. In a playful manner the get introduced to English-taught programmes, and can learn more about these programmes on the website.
